University of Applied Sciences

We demonstrate how to apply AI responsibly and meaningfully in practice. We don’t innovate in AI, but with AI.

In seven labs—spread across the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and linked to its six faculties—the Centre of Expertise Applied Artificial Intelligence collaborates with education, research, industry, and societal organizations.

Together, we design, develop, and implement responsible AI solutions. Through co-creation, we ensure applications that companies and institutions can truly benefit from.

Each lab focuses on a specific application area. The activities and results of the labs feed into both education and research. Students are actively involved through graduation projects, minors, and courses within the curriculum. The labs also connect organizations with AI talent at both bachelor’s and master’s levels.

The Centre of Expertise Applied AI has its roots in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and is therefore part of a strong, innovative business network. We work closely with the partners of Amsterdam AI.

Everything we do within this collaboration is aimed at applying AI in a human-centered, fair, just, safe, and reliable way.
