Sanquin

Sanquin is a leading organization in blood and immunological research and explores how artificial intelligence can contribute to improved diagnostics and treatment. The organization investigates how AI can be used to accelerate medical processes and make analyses more accurate.

One example is research into how immune cells regulate their protein production. Using AI, insight has been gained into the “code” behind this process—knowledge that may help strengthen immunotherapies in the future. Such applications demonstrate how AI can be valuable in improving treatments for cancer and other diseases.

In addition, Sanquin is exploring the use of AI in laboratory research, such as the automatic recognition of abnormal blood cells using computer vision. This lays the foundation for faster and more reliable diagnostics, which can contribute to the healthcare of tomorrow.
