Conclusion has been awarded a European tender from Glia Diagnostiek IT, a consortium comprising Amsterdam UMC, OLVG Lab, and GGD Amsterdam. The contract runs for six years and is valued at €3.5 million. The platform aims to consolidate fragmented laboratory services across the Amsterdam region, reducing redundant diagnostic tests and delays in patient care.
The platform will be built on open standards, including openEHR, and will be cloud-agnostic to avoid dependency on a single vendor or infrastructure. According to the parties involved, the current fragmentation in diagnostic services leads to duplicate test requests and unnecessary delays. A shared platform is intended to address these issues structurally.
Mark Elstgeest of Conclusion described regional collaboration at this scale in diagnostic services as unique for the Netherlands. The initiative is being positioned as a potential blueprint for other Dutch regions facing similar challenges with fragmented laboratory data.
