Blood sampling in the ED

Getting blood drawn is no one’s pleasure. And taking a lot of blood is really annoying for some patients. Moreover, it turns out that the latter is not always necessary. For example in infection screening in the emergency room (ED). Physician-researchers Roos Boerman and Michiel Schinkel investigated how, with the help of artificial intelligence, they could prevent the unnecessary drawing of blood from patients in A&E.
