On Friday, 16 October, the University of Amsterdam’s Graduate School of Informatics hosts the AI Thesis Fair (AITF) and the Thesis Fair (TF), both taking place this year at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam.
Both events connect organisations with MSc students looking for thesis projects. The AI Thesis Fair focuses specifically on students from AI-related programmes, while the broader Thesis Fair covers the full range of informatics programmes, including Computer Science, Computational Science, Information Studies (Data Science and HCI), Logic, Software Engineering, and Security and Network Engineering. Organisations can choose to attend one or both events depending on which student profiles they’re interested in meeting.
What does participation involve?
To participate, organisations submit project proposals via the Thesis Matching Platform (TMP) and register via this registration form. Each MSc programme has its own requirements for thesis projects, set out in the official Project Guidelines. An AI thesis, for example, requires a clear research question that can be answered within six months, while a Software Engineering project asks for a mix of theory and practice within a lab-like company environment. Project proposals must be submitted in English; if a project requires a Dutch-speaking student, that should be stated separately.
Need help submitting your project on the TMP? Follow the TMP external project submission guide.
Deadline has passed? You can still join
The regular deadline for submitting project proposals has passed. If you’d still like to take part, email [email protected] by 7 September to request an extension.
Only submitting projects, not attending?
That’s possible too. Get in touch via [email protected] so your account can be set up accordingly. The same Project Guidelines per programme still apply, and submission still runs through the Thesis Matching Platform.
Don’t have a TMP account yet?
