ABN AMRO partners with French AI company Mistral

Service Sector

ABN AMRO is entering into a strategic partnership with French AI start-up Mistral, aimed at developing and deploying advanced artificial intelligence solutions within the bank. It is the first time that Mistral, which also works with Microsoft, has formed such a partnership with a major Dutch bank.

ABN AMRO and Mistral have established a strategic partnership to develop and implement advanced AI technologies across the bank’s operations. The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Carsten Bittner, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at ABN AMRO, highlights the broader significance of the partnership. According to Bittner, the collaboration gives the bank access to the most advanced AI technologies available. He also stressed that in a rapidly changing world, it is more important than ever for Europe to remain digitally resilient, competitive, and strategically independent.

ABN AMRO is not the only Dutch bank investing in AI. Rabobank announced earlier this week that it plans to invest up to 2 billion euros over the next three years in strengthening its IT and data systems, with the aim of scaling up its use of AI.
