On 7 May 2026, CWI and Maastricht University host the symposium Understanding Bias in AI – a Wide Lens at Science Park 123, Amsterdam. The event examines how bias can arise, propagate, and be amplified across the AI lifecycle, from data selection to model deployment and interpretation. By taking a broad, systemic perspective, the symposium highlights the complex interactions between human and machine biases in sociotechnical systems.
