More than 20 robots, a robot dance contest, and a panel on the latest developments in AI robotics come together at Sporthallen Zuid.

On October 13, AI on the Amstel transforms Amsterdam’s biggest sports hall into a robotics expo, featuring robots from universities, major tech companies and startups, along with a panel on the latest developments in AI and robotics.

Doors open at 16:00, and visitors are free to walk through the hall and onto the court to see more than 20 robots, coming from the robotics departments of TU Delft, VU and UvA, major companies including Monumental, Nebius and Prosus, and six robotics startups. Around 18:00, the programme kicks off with entertainment, including a robot dance contest and a robot race.

Alongside the entertainment, a panel will discuss the cutting edge of AI in robotics, featuring Sebas Visser, founder and CTO of Monumental, and Pepijn Kooijmans, who leads Hugging Face’s open-source robotics initiative. Seb Vaessen, who leads robotics venture investing in Europe at Prosus, will moderate the discussion. After the panel, there will be time for further networking and browsing the expo.

The event is organised by AI on the Amstel, Amsterdam’s largest monthly AI meetup, in partnership with the City of Amsterdam through Amsterdam Trade & Invest and StartupAmsterdam.
