During the NDE Month of Digital Heritage 2025, Amsterdam Time Machine is organizing a follow-up event on Thursday, November 20, building on two earlier data events from this year: the Datasprint Stories of Amsterdam and the Hackathon The City as a Dataspace. Once again, researchers from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) will join in. They specialize in the history of Amsterdam, digital heritage, data, and AI. This means that we will not only pick up where we left off last time, but also introduce new Linked Open Data (LOD) activities.

The datasprint will also have a special celebratory twist! Amsterdam Time Machine will launch its new landing page — a first step toward an index of Amsterdam-related data, made accessible through the map of Amsterdam. And they’re doing this right in the heart of the new UvA University Library. You’ll want to be there!

You’re warmly invited to join us at the Bushuis of the UvA for a full day of hands-on exploration with colleagues from across the country, working with various LOD tools and applications for annotating, georeferencing, and visualizing heritage and research data. Whether you’re a data expert, work at a museum, library, or archive, study or conduct research with data, or are simply fascinated by the history (of Amsterdam) or by maps, you are very welcome to participate. You’re also encouraged to bring your own dataset to experiment with!
