On Thursday, 25 September, the first AI4FinTech seminar of this academic year will take place, featuring contributions from Yichun Wang (University of Amsterdam) and Andreas Sauter (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam & ING).
The seminar consists of two lectures.
- “Machine Learning Practitioners’ Views on Data Quality in Light of EU Regulatory Requirements” will be presented by Yichun Wang (University of Amsterdam). This presentation explores how data quality and EU regulation intersect within machine learning. A framework and a survey of more than 180 European data practitioners highlight key challenges and provide recommendations for improved collaboration between technical and legal professionals.
- “Amortized Causal Effect Prediction for Financial Time Series” will be presented by Andreas Sauter (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam & ING). The talk introduces a novel model that applies causal inference to financial time series. The model provides insights into how risks propagate within credit default swaps (CDS) and demonstrates how interventional outcomes can be predicted more efficiently and reliably.
Everyone is welcome to take part in the discussion. The seminar is open to both in-person and online participants.
