Privacy is a highly important topic for Amsterdam AI and therefore we handle your personal data with care. In this Privacy Statement we describe how personal data is processed and how the privacy of all individuals is protected.
Amsterdam AI protects your personal information and privacy. This privacy statement is applicable to the amsterdamai.com website.
 
Who is responsible for processing my personal data?
Amsterdam AI is a public private partnership of which the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is one of the founding partners. Regarding the website amsterdamai.com, the UvA is the party responsible for processing your personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’). 
The UvA is located at Spui 21, 1012 WX Amsterdam. Our postal address is PO Box 19268, 1000 WX Amsterdam.

General information

General information is kept about all visitors to the Amsterdam AI website via Google Analytics, such as data relating to the most visited pages of the website. Amsterdam AI’s goal is to use this information to optimize the website for visitors. This includes numerical data and totals for which the identity of the visitor is not important. This data is stored no longer than 26 months.
What personal information does Amsterdam AI store?
Your personal information is collected at different moments, for example, when you sign up for our newsletter, or send Amsterdam AI an email through the website tool. Amsterdam AI stores information such as your name, email-address. Amsterdam AI also stores non personal information such as your IP address, browser-type and operating system.
 
Why does Amsterdam AI store your personal information?

Amsterdam AI stores your personal information to send the newsletter. Sometimes Amsterdam AI will use your name and email address to send you interesting content or important information such as events or changes to our terms and conditions or privacy statement.
How does Amsterdam AI protect your personal information?
Amsterdam AI does everything possible to protect your personal information from getting lost or destroyed and to protect your personal information from usage, changes and distribution by unauthorized parties. This is done by encrypting sensitive information, processing usage data anonymously and, where needed, through a Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
 
Will my personal data be shared with third parties?

Your data is only accessible by Amsterdam AI and its web service provider and will not be shared with others without your consent. Amsterdam AI will only share your personal data (provided by you, with your consent) with for example third parties if this is necessary to support the performance of the website, for example a software supplier, such as Deploytec (newsletter). Amsterdam AI and, therefore the UvA has written agreements with ‘third parties’ about the processing and security of your personal data.
Will my personal data be transferred to countries outside the European Union?
Amsterdam AI will process your data solely within the European Union (‘EU’) by saving your data on a server located in the EU wherever possible. When we enlist the services of data processing firms, we stipulate that they must save personal data on servers located in the EU. 
 
How will my personal data be secured?

Amsterdam AI takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss and any form of unlawful processing. 
How long will my personal data be stored?
We will not keep your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which we use it. We are required by law to keep some data for a certain period of time. Where possible we will pseudonymize or anonymize the data.
 
How can I view, change, and delete my personal information and settings?

You have the right to view, correct and delete your personal data. If you want to know what data we hold on to or ask us to delete your personal information, you can send us an email at [email protected]
 
How can I unsubscribe from emails sent by Amsterdam AI?

The newsletters Amsterdam AI sends are provided with an opt-out, a link with which you can unsubscribe from the newsletters.

Through cookies Amsterdam AI knows when you visit again. Cookies also help Amsterdam AI to solve bugs on the website. On the basis of the GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data that we process, to correct your personal data if it contains factual inaccuracies, to have your personal data deleted, to limit the processing of your personal data, and – subject to certain conditions –  to object to the processing of your personal data and the right to dataportability.
