What are you going to do?
Your tasks and responsibilities are:
- Event Management:
Your creativity and organizational talent come to life when planning and executing various events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences. You ensure flawless execution and coordination with internal and external parties, while ensuring that every event becomes an unforgettable experience. You offer advice and support to colleagues who want to organize events.
 
-Communication:
You are a key figure in the communication surrounding our events, where you provide advice and take care of the implementation to effectively convey the message. Together with the communications team, you will work to increase the visibility of Amsterdam AI through various channels.
 
-Networking and Vision Development:
You build a network of event locations and suppliers in Amsterdam and contribute to the development of a vision for organizing events within Amsterdam AI.
 
Your profile
 You are/have:
a coordinating team player with HBO or WO working and thinking level; customer-oriented, hospitable, and a problem solver with a healthy dose of passion for your work who is willing to work outside office hours occasionally; a hands-on mentality with excellent administrative skills and familiarity with online communication platforms; an excellent command of both the Dutch and English language; (work) experience in (international) higher education;
proactive and flexible, and able to give and receive feedback. Affinity with AI is an advantage.
 
Our offer
We offer a temporary employment contract for 30.4 hours per week for a period of 12 months to assess suitability for the position. If we assess your performance positively, an employment contract for an indefinite period will follow. The desired start date is September 1, 2024.

The gross monthly salary, based on a 38-hour working week and depending on relevant work experience for the position, varies from € 3,072 to € 4,640. This excludes 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The UFO Communications Officer profile applies. The Collective Labor Agreement for Universities of the Netherlands applies.

In addition to the salary and the inspiring environment at Science Park, we offer a varied package of secondary employment conditions:
-232 holiday hours per year (based on full-time)
-various courses that can be followed through the Teaching and Learning Center;
-7 weeks maternity leave with 100% salary retention;
-partially paid parental leave;
-a pension with ABP, to which the UvA contributes two-thirds.
-Secondary employment conditions such as holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, flexible working hours, and the possibility of hybrid working within the Netherlands within frameworks and after consultation with your manager.
-Home work allowance, laptop and mobile phone (on loan from) the university.
